Fire Safety for Hirers
Essential Fire Safety Information for Room Hirers
Important: Changes to national fire regulations mean that the Fire and Rescue Service cannot be relied upon to evacuate individuals from refuge points on upper floors. We are reviewing our fire evacuation plans but ask that hirers note the following:
If you are hiring a room located above ground floor level, you must ensure that:
- You have an appropriate evacuation plan for any person in your group who may be unable to self‑evacuate in an emergency (including wheelchair users or anyone with reduced mobility).
- You provide sufficient trained staff to carry out your evacuation plan safely and effectively.
- You request a ground‑floor room if you cannot meet these requirements and if one is available at the time of booking.
By confirming or requesting your booking, you acknowledge that you are responsible for the safe evacuation of all individuals in your party and that Explore staff cannot provide assisted evacuation from upper floors.
If you have any questions about room suitability or evacuation requirements, please contact us before confirming or requesting your booking.
